Continue the Fight with Intermittent Strikes!

Temps de lecture estimé : 3 minutes

The mobilization days of September 10 and 18 have demonstrated the determination of employees

At Airbus, let’s keep the pressure on to obtain:

  • Immediate permanent employment (CDI) for temporary workers (those on CDD and CDII who wish it) and the hiring of new employees to share the work, with a 32-hour week at no loss of pay, rather than the reliance on mandatory overtime.
  • A second round of raises in 2025 with a general increase, rather than incentive bonuses to work on Saturdays.
  • The reinstatement of variable pay and the abolition of clocking in/out (for blue-collar workers).
  • Payment of overtime hours in the month they are worked.
  • The implementation at Airbus of an ecological transition guaranteeing our jobs.
  • A reliable measurement of gender equality and other factors of discrimination, with the creation of a 5-year plan to establish equal treatment for all.

Call for Intermittent Strikes Until the End of 2025

Through this call, the CGT is enabling all employees to engage in intermittent strikes (meaning occasionally, on the days and hours of their choice) over the period from September 25 to December 31, based on the claims listed above.

The modalities are as follows:

  • Any employee can strike, whether unionized or not.
  • Number of days: at the employee’s discretion.
  • Duration per day: from 1 hour to the entire day (no union or management can impose a strike duration on you).
  • Applicable period: all days of the week, including weekends.

How to Declare a Strike?

As a courtesy, you can send an email to your manager stating the duration of your strike. Furthermore, there is no notice period in the private sector. Legally, it is up to the management to ask you if you are on strike.

  • The strike is deducted from the annual working time (1607 hours), but your excess hours and premium pay are retained for the calculation of your overtime at the end of the year.
  • A tip: track your strike hours and days and check your pay slips…

Reminder of the Fundamentals

Locally, striking works and is far from being an old-fashioned or obsolete method of action, as is sometimes heard. The figures are clear: a study by the Ministry of Labour based on the year 2020 informs us that 62.8% of companies that experienced a strike during the year had successful negotiations for the employees, compared to only 12.7% of companies that did not experience social conflict.

The following year, in 2021, the figure was even higher: 79% of companies reporting at least one strike implemented agreements favorable to employees, compared to only 16.6% of companies that experienced neither a strike nor any form of conflict.

Striking is a right, find more information on our dedicated page (in french).
