G. Faury Apologizes But Stays the Course!

Temps de lecture estimé : 3 minutes

During the Airbus Group Committee (CGA-F) on July 9th, management implicitly confirmed the reduction of remote work following Guillaume Faury’s announcements. The managerial double-talk is now blatant.

Management’s « Why »: A Managerial Pretext

To justify this slowdown on remote work, Guillaume Faury pointed out during the meeting that 25% of the workforce has less than three years of seniority. According to him, reducing remote work is the only solution to ensure a « better transmission » of skills…

This is false! Social science studies (notably from INSEE) prove the opposite: when well-structured—as it is at Airbus—remote work promotes autonomy, efficiency, and in no way hinders the onboarding of newcomers. At Airbus Atlantic, management even has the contempt to say that if the new remote work guidelines don’t suit the employees, they are free to leave the company!

Management’s « How »: Brutally and with Disciplinary Sanctions

Management claims that the framework remains the QVCT (Quality of Life and Working Conditions) agreement… Yet, they state that remote work is not a right, that two days of remote work is a maximum, and that it should not be the norm. CGT translation: Eventually, it won’t be two days of remote work anymore! It will be one day maximum!

« It’s two days max, ok, but not more than one day…
Sorry, I wasn’t clear… Anyway, have a good vacation… »

Should we expect disciplinary measures for recalcitrant employees, as explicitly stated in the Lines-To-Take (LTT) distributed to managers? Management responds that people must « adapt » and that employees will have to « comply with managerial instructions »…

CGT’s Position

Remote work is a major step forward at Airbus for our efficiency, our work-life balance, our working conditions, and the environment. Let’s not allow management to strip us of this work arrangement under the pretext of outdated management practices.

After the four days of mobilization in June, the summer break must not dampen our anger.

Thanks to their exceptional mobilization since July 1st, our Airbus Spain colleagues have already secured a preliminary agreement with management (still subject to democratic validation by employees) which includes maintaining two days of remote work and a 12% salary increase over two years, including a 10% general pay rise.

Starting in September, the CGT calls for renewed mobilization.

To express our anger once again and demand the withdrawal of the remote work reduction at Airbus. We will keep you informed of the exact date.

Together, let’s build leverage and make our voices heard!
