Every year, the group’s financial results outperform the previous year. The H1 2026 financial results published on July 29 are no exception. This is very good news, and we should be proud of it, as it is the result of every employee’s hard work!
However, every year, shareholders receive an increasingly large share of the value created:
- In 2025, nearly 50% of the profits were paid out as dividends (€2.53 billion).
- Recently, the top management announced that the group will:
- Spend €5 billion on share buybacks. Objective: boost the Airbus share price (which can be considered another form of dividend).
- Double margins by 2029, aiming for €12–13 billion in adjusted EBIT (compared to €7.1 billion projected for 2026).
Unfortunately, these gains are —and will continue to be— achieved through ever-increasing austerity and degraded working conditions for all employees: below-inflation wage increases, stripped-down bonuses, stalled careers due to the RELOAD job classifications, work intensification, reduced work-from-home options, etc.
All these setbacks are happening because there is no strong opposition to management. Today, « partner » trade unions sign regressive agreements through a complacent « social dialogue » that harms the collective interest of the workforce.
For the CGT, this is not inevitable. Airbus can and must allow us to:
- Work under better conditions (an end to overwork, new hires),
- Benefit from better recognition (pay raises, bonus payouts, promotions, better health insurance coverage, etc.),
- Invest in the company’s future (decarbonization, diversification).
To achieve progress, only a strong position against management will change things at Airbus.
Our Spanish colleagues proved this by taking strike action and winning results.
