As managers continue to announce a mandatory 4-day return to the office starting September 1st (based on their official « Lines-to-take »), the hopes raised by some are fading. The CGT is organizing a third day of strike action to demand the withdrawal of these measures.
Above all, it’s an ego trip!
Why is Airbus forcing this step backward upon us under the guise of team cohesion and collective efficiency? A recent academic research has just proven that executives’ resistance to remote work is actually driven by narcissism and a need for absolute control. It is time to remind management that we want to work for the future of the company under good conditions, not to flatter their egos!
Striking works!
At Stellantis, a strong employee turnout recently forced management to back down on their plans to cut remote working days.
What about Airbus?
On June 18 and 25, the CGT called for strike rallies in front of M67, then B80, to demand the retention of the two days of remote work. Around a hundred colleagues—members of various unions or non-unionized—mobilized each time, not counting those who declared themselves on strike without attending the rallies. Apart from the CFDT, no other union responded to the CGT’s proposal for a joint union front (intersyndicale), which was voted on by the strikers on June 18.
What did the strikers decide on June 25?
The general assembly formed during the rally voted for the following actions:
- Join the rally organized by the CFDT on June 30 at 12:30 PM in front of B80, in a spirit of cross-union unity.
- Organize a new CGT rally on Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 AM in front of B80, with strike arrangements.
- Request Guillaume Faury to receive a delegation of strikers on Thursday, July 2 at noon.

What the QVCT (Quality of Life and Working Conditions) agreement actually says
Contrary to what has been communicated, the agreement does allow remote work to be restricted to fewer than two days per week. Indeed, this agreement (which the CGT did not sign) specifies that the manager is the one who decides on any changes to remote work within this framework. Quote from the Airbus QVCT agreement (§3.1.3.2.3):
Both the remote worker and the line manager may decide to modify one of the essential elements of remote working defined in the application form (for example: reducing or increasing remote working days, changing the remote working location), subject to a one-month notice period. This period may be shortened by written agreement between the remote worker and the line manager. In the event of a modification initiated by the line manager, they must justify their decision in writing. (…)
Rally: Thursday, July 2 at 11:00 AM in front of B80
To voice our anger once again and demand the withdrawal of remote work cuts at Airbus.
We have sent a letter to G. Faury requesting that he receives a delegation of strikers during the rally.
Strike arrangements: The CGT calls on all Airbus employees, union members or not, to go on strike for the duration of their choice, up to a full day. To do this, simply declare it to your manager. It is their responsibility to log your strike in myHR. You are under no obligation to notify them in advance.
Striking is a right; opposing it is a criminal offense (Article L1132-2 of the French Labor Code)!
The strike protects you!
By suspending the employment contract for the duration of the strike, the employer cannot hold it against an employee in any way (provided it is exercised in compliance with the law, which the CGT always ensures!).
